Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Astral Isles website and game, run by Astral Isles. We do not sell your information or share it with advertisers. Using the game is also covered by our Terms.
What we collect
- Contact information, such as your email address if you sign up for updates.
- Account and game data, such as your username, progress, and chat messages.
- Technical information, such as your IP address, device details, the timing of your mouse and key presses on the login screen (never what you type), and gameplay activity, including checks for known cheating tools.
How we use it
- To run the game and your account, because you asked us to by playing.
- If you sign up, to email you game updates and when the Kickstarter and Steam page launch, because you agreed to it. Signing up is optional and is not needed to download or play.
- To prevent cheating, bots, and abuse, and to review reports about players, because keeping the game fair and safe is in all players' interest.
- To fix problems and improve the game, for the same reason.
Who else sees it
Service providers that host and run Astral Isles for us. We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect players, or to report content that exploits children to the authorities. YouTube, GitHub, and Discord, which we link to or embed, have their own privacy policies.
We are based in the United States, and your information may be stored and processed there.
How long we keep it
As long as your account is active or as needed for the purposes above. Login screen input is deleted after one year. Game data may be reset during development.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from update emails at any time, from the link in each email or on our unsubscribe page. You can also ask us to show you, correct, delete, or send you a copy of your information, to limit how we use it, or to object to it, by emailing astralisles@gmail.com. If you live in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Players under 18 need a parent or guardian to agree to our Terms for them. A parent or guardian can ask to see or delete their child's information, or to close their child's account, by emailing astralisles@gmail.com.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top. For changes that matter, we will also tell you in the game or by email.
