The rules of the forge, as Master Haldor taught them and as Corwin of Lunaris Reach wrote them out.
One. Charge a fair price and give a full weight. A smith is paid twice, once in coin and once in name.
Two. Never sell work you would not put your mark on.
Three. The forge does not care how tired you are. Neither does the iron.
Four. A cracked anvil is a lesson. A borrowed one is a debt.
Five. Every blade you ruin teaches the one after it. Do not throw away the lesson with the scrap.
Six. Whoever pays you for your work is not your master, and you are not theirs. You have made a trade. Honor it.
