On the Ages (Pre-History)

Found onBookshelf
Our history is broken into 5 ages: Pre-History, Age of Ink, Age of Horizon, Age of Conjunction, and the Modern Age. Each age covers a thousand or more years and marks a major development of innovation or discovery. Dates are written by an 'A', followed by a number indicating the age, then by the number of years since that age started. Example: A2:1200 is roughly when iron was discovered, which was 1200 years after the start of the second age.

Pre-History
Pre-history marks all of our history before the invention of writing. Artifacts from this era were teeming with primal magic, but not as refined as today. Common materials worked include copper, glass, wood, pottery, and stone. In the southern part of the Mother World, our ancestors built large pyramids to channel energy to increase harvest yields by redirecting light. In the northern parts, our ancestors built stone walls spanning miles and imbued with runes to ward off enemies. Because we do not know the beginning of this age, the years component marks how many years before the invention of writing (e.g., A1:500 is 500 years before writing).
